KZIQ FM "THE COYOTE" replaced its outdated and worn out equipment, with an innovative approach; when faced with a small budget to work with.

Within a small room, two on air positions and production co-exist. KZIQ FM, KWDJ AM, and production. The mixers are all Berhinger, computers are used extensively in the new studios. only a few analog devices are used in production a CD-DVD player serves as back up for the FM and used for the live morning show.

KWDJ AM is a talk station carrying Fox talk shows and news on the top of the hour. KWDJ's 1000 watt day signal can be heard down into Palmdale California with a good car radio. The 125 watt night signal; covers Ridgecrest with a good signal

Major upgrades were made after this photo was taken, including: removing the STL antennas from the tower, improving the AM ground and replacing the transmitter. For the FM a new 2 bay broadcast antenna, rebuilding the Collins back up is also planned.
